URAC Accredited Since September 2008

In February of 2006’, the State of Illinois adopted new rules and regulations that would assist the workers compensation system in obtaining more stringent by-laws and regulations for Doctors and Insurance Companies to follow.  With these by-laws came new Fee Schedules and URAC accredited URM protocols for Peer Review process.  UR Management Companies or third party companies must be certified with the State of Illinois to be allowed to process UR but only by URAC STANDARDS.

URAC standards are an aggressive yet detailed protocol of standards or guidelines that are necessary for proper Utilization Review.  With their standards, brings credibility and with URAC ACCREDITATION, you can trust that the entity whom is accredited with URAC is following strict management guidelines that are mandatory and set forth through the Washington DC based entity called URAC or known as Utilization Review Accreditation Commission. Accreditation serves as a symbol of excellence in the health care industry and provides an alternative avenue for managed care companies to demonstrate compliance with state and federal requirements.

URAC, is an independent and nonprofit organization that is well-known as a leader in promoting health care quality through its accreditation and certification programs. URAC offers a wide range of quality benchmarking programs and services that keep pace with the rapid changes in the health care system, and provide a symbol of excellence for organizations like ours to validate their commitment to quality and accountability. Through its broad-based governance structure and inclusive standards of development, URAC ensures that all stakeholders are represented in establishing meaningful quality measures for the entire health care industry and is exactly why we at Spine Institute of Waukegan aka. Spine and Joint Institute have engaged in this process of accreditation.

Our mission is much like URAC in that we aim to promote continuous improvement in the quality and efficiency of our health care provided and the management thereof in our facility through processes of following the stringent guidelines of URAC accreditation and continue to be educated by their updates.
With this process comes countless hours of policies, procedures and numerous other requirements set forth by the commission that are mandatory for our facility to qualify as an “accredited institution” through URAC standards.

Being one of only a few in all of the State of Illinois accredited by URAC will set us apart as one of the leading providers or Health Care Facilities in Lake County and all other northern Illinois State Counties.

We are currently structured with meticulous methodology of operations that can be visualized by viewing our web-site and the available photos of our professional staff and facility.  We operate under a very clean and sanitary environment that is not only organized but fun.  We take pride in what we do and our job very serious.
