Litigated / Non-Litigated Cases
Initial Stages
After prescreening the case to determine whether or not the case has merit, we will then have the patient fill out all necessary paper work, take a complete history and complete an exam with x-rays if needed. **( We will of course, assume that the case has already been prescreened at your office prior to sending the client to our facility for further medical attention. )
Treatment
Once the patient has been examined, we will place the patient on a customized physical therapy and rehabilitation regimen to assist them back to health.
MD / Testing Referral
During this time it is often necessary to get a second opinion on a patient’s condition, or further, do diagnostic testing to properly diagnose the patient’s condition. Testing will ultimately always be performed either through MRI, CT-Scan, Digital Motion Fluoroscopy, Neuro-Diagnostic Testing, MD Ortho or Neuro Evaluation, to prove the case and injuries sustained, severity, etc… We then utilize this information to better serve the patient and their needs as well as to properly diagnose their condition. This information is documented and later used to draw our final medical conclusions in the final report.
Administrative
We will also assist the patient with all proper paper work administratively to be sure that all parties are properly notified of their progress such as disability status, timely progress reports and so on. If the case is not contested, we will call the insurance company and begin the authorization process. If it is contested, we will submit all appropriate paper work to the employer and other parties if available. A detailed Doctors First Report will always be submitted within 10 days of the first visit in our office with all workman’s compensation cases, litigated or non-litigated. This goes to the Law office, Insurance Company and Employer. With litigated cases we will submit appropriate liens and of course relay on you, the Attorney firm, to assist us in getting paid our fees when time comes for payment of services provided for the patient. We ask that you work with us as we have, with taking care of all aspects of your client as it will serve as the best interest for all parties involved. We thank you in advance for this.
Final Report
The patient will then be treated until such time they have reached a point of maximal medical improvement status at which time we will release them as Permanent and Stationery and will summarize all events of treatment, other Doctors and Diagnostic Reports, Permanent Impairment from the injury, etc… into a final report. This will be sent directly to the Law firm within a 2-4 week time at which point, the Law Office takes over the case and assists the patient the rest of the way. |
